Design Reality is a leading Product Design agency founded in 2000.  Based in the heart of North Wales we work across a wide range of sectors including Industrial, Medical and Consumer.  We’ve got an outstanding team of Design and Electronics experts offering specialist knowledge and experience to our clients, ensuring we develop outstanding and award-winning product design.

We’ve recently won some exciting client projects, so to support the ongoing growth of the business we’re looking for a UI/UX Designer to join our team.

About you

We’re looking for a UI/UX Designer to design and shape unique, user-centric products and experiences. The ideal candidate will have experience working in agile teams, with developers and designers. You will be able to make deliberate design decisions and to translate any given user-experience journey into a smooth and intuitive interaction.  If you have a minimum of 2 years experience in a design consultancy or equivalent environment and you would like to work in a friendly consultancy with a diverse range of clients, then this is a great opportunity for you!

Required skills

  • Strong portfolio to be presented and defended during interview.
  • Hands-on experience creating wireframes, prototypes, storyboards, user flows, etc.
  • Experience using tools such as Photoshop, Sketch, Illustrator, InVision, UXPin, Quartz.
  • Understanding of basic front-end languages: HTML5, CSS3 Javascript.
  • Creative ideas with problem solving mindset.
  • Experience working in an agile/scrum development process could be beneficial.

 Responsibilities

  • Be a great team player, experienced in working with agile teams. Ability to collaborate closely with developers and designers.
  • Create, improve and use wireframes, prototypes, style guides, user flows, and effectively communicate your interaction ideas using any of these methods.
  • Present and defend your design decisions. All your design decisions should be based on the overall design roadmap as well as your own design thinking and fundamental principles (i.e. color theory, visual weight, etc.)
  • Continually keep yourself and your design team updated with the latest changes in your industry’s standards.
